Nutrition for Thin Seniors

For seniors who are underweight and have low energy, try eating small, nutritious portions that contain ample calories. Try using a calorie-dense spread on wholegrain toast, like plant margarine with two layers of toppings like tomatoes, cucumbers and egg-free mayonnaise or soy cheese and all-natural jam. Avocado and nut butters also taste great.

For dinners, try increase the fat content by adding some soy cream, coconut fat or vegetable oil. Some desserts that taste delicious are prune porridge with soy cream; chocolate mousse; rice pudding; and ice cream made with soy cream. Nuts and almonds are also excellent to eat if you are thin, and a cup of cacao always tastes delicious! :-)
