- Give fruit as treat instead of sweets or dessert. With a kind and happy voice, tell your child that she or he can have some apple boats or grapes as a snack after, or that they can have their favorite smoothie when finished their duties. Then your children get a treat that is both sweet and healthy.
- Children love choices! Before meals, let them choose between two vegetables or dishes, by asking "Do you want some carrots or cauliflower with dinner?" or "Do you want granola or a smoothie for breakfast?" They will quickly let you now! This is both a nice way to include your children in their food choices, while also teaching them to listen to their bodies. But limit choices to two, since more will be too much, especially for younger children.
