Acid - Alkaline Balance

Both our body cells and the chemical reactions in our body need a certain pH-value in order to function well. The things we eat and drink on a regular basis - our diet - effects this delicate pH-balance.

A diet rich in alkaline foods, such as dark leafy greens, vegetables, avocados, almonds, nuts, millet, buckwheat, etc. contributes to our internal alkalinity, so that the body functions most optimally and the cells and the enzymes perform their tasks in the best possible way. In contrast, if you give your body foods that are acidic, you will no longer thrive as well. You will notice that you may more easily get pains and aches that you would have otherwise avoided. A surplus of acid in our body can also cause restlessness; however this will soon disappear when you change to a purer and more alkaline diet.

On this page you can read about the acid-alkaline balance and the role that pH-values play in the millions of amazing chemical processes that occur in our bodies each day, including the
absorption of the nutrients in the food we eat.
