Improve Digestion

Eating raw vegetables is not always as easy as eating them cooked. Here are some simple things you can do to make it easier to digest. Also note that, over time, your body will grow more accustomed to eating raw foods.

*Cut vegetables into thin, fine strips or part into small florets.

*Give vegetables, such as broccoli florets, a gentle massage with the palm of your hand, your thumb and index finger (or try using a rolling pin.)

*Divide the strips and flowers in a bowl, sprinkle some salt and rub gently. Let this sit for at least ten minutes to soften. Then pour off the water that the vegetables have released.

*Marinate vegetables by placing in a bowl with some salt and olive oil.

*Blend vegetables in a blender to make a delicious smoothie or soup.

By using one of the methods above, the vegetables will soften and become easier to eat, taste and digest.
