Vegan Food for the First Year

After your baby has been introduced to solid food and is enjoying eating time, a baby can be introduced to new and exciting flavours as he grows, like:

         * Fresh, peeled soft fruit and vegetables, like kiwi, mango, avocado, tomato,               cucumber, zucchini, and more.

  • Fresh made smoothies or juices made from fruit and vegetables. 
  • Plant milk fortified with calcium.
  • Carrot, banana and almond smoothies mixed with dates and a nut milk.
  • Plant and legume based stews, either water of milk based (coconut milk makes a wonderfully creamy base for stews.)

*To provide extra protein, try combining a vegetable puree with sprouted soy beans, peas, lentils or chickpeas with whole grains. 

*Just remember, baby food should not be salted since the baby´s kidneys are not strong enough to process the sodium.
