Nut Milk

Nut milk is both nutritious and easy to make. You can make it with all kinds of nuts, such as almonds, macadamia, cashews, walnuts and hazelnuts, and sweeten milk with dates, bananas, vanilla extract or agave syrup. Sesame milk with bananas also tastes delicious!

*By adding more or less water, the nut milk will be thin or creamy.

*You can pour the milk through a nut bag or drink it with all the wonderful fiber intact.

If you choose to strain the fiber from the milk, try dehydrating the pulp, making cookies or adding it to dinner cakes.

The pulp will also keep for up to three months in the freezer.

*Nut Milk is delicious both on cereals and in smoothies. For breakfast, try a healthy smoothie with a banana, some cereal and plant milk – this will give you energy and brighten up your morning!  And, later in the day, for a special treat, why not celebrate by adding some fresh strawberries to a glass of plant milk? Or maybe a tablespoon of cacao powder and some sweetener to make a delightful shake? Just play around with a wide array of ingredients and try to find the flavour combination that you most enjoy.

*Nut milk will keep for four days in the fridge (it separates easily, so please

remember to shake or stir with a spoon before using).
