Walnut Paté with Garlic

This is a nut paté with herbs and garlic that smells and tastes delicious.

Ingredients Yield, one small bowl

2 cups walnuts, soaked 12 hours

2 teaspoons herb seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic

pinch pepper

2-6 tablespoons water

Preparation

Pour off the water from the walnuts, rinse and dry the nuts with a cloth or paper towel.

Grind the nuts in a coffee grinder and place in the blender. Add seasoning and 2 tablespoons of water and blend briefly. Add more water, 1 teaspoon at a time, until it is a nice and creamy consistency (the nuts already contain water from the soaking).

Serving Suggestions

This is excellent with salads, as dip for vegetables or a spread on crispy wholegrain bread.

*Walnuts contain lots of omega-3 fatty acids.
